I have become a recent advocate for any delicious and healthy toast options. I never thought to combine avocado and chocolate. It turned out to be an amazing option for any meal of the day. I’ll give some ideas on some more healthy bread options and even a rice cake if you want really clean.
Calories are around 150-200 per slice of toast depending on the bread you choose. 40g of Carbs, 8g of healthy fat, 5g Protein.
INGREDIENTS
- Avocados: Raw whole peeled of the skin: 1 Avocado
- Cocoa: Dry powder unsweetened: 1 Tablespoon
- Maple Syrup (Any pure variety will do): 1/ Tablespoon
- Vanilla Extract(pure or imitation): 1/2 Teaspoon
- Salt: Just a pinch
- Bread(your favorite type of bread): 1-2 Slices
- I would highly recommend finding the bread that has low processed sugars(0-2g per slice)
Step 1: In a blender or food processor, combine avocado, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth adding 1 teaspoon of water to get a more creamy consistency if desired.
Step 2: Toast Bread
Step 3: Spread chocolate-avocado mixture onto the toasted bread. Add a banana, some raspberries, or your favorite fruit if you like. Enjoy!
